The freckled girls

It's been a while since I last shared anything here for Paint Party Friday and it is not because I've not been painting. Well it was at first. I didn't think I had the time but soon realized I needed to take the time for it. I go a little bit mad without my creative outlet. I have been reasonably good at sharing on Instagram so look me up there if you want to keep up. I'm @fairlyfabulousart
Remember more than a year ago when I made the first attempts in mixed media faces and didn't feel I was quite getting it? Well it took me a while and quite many detours but I'm finally back and giving them a try. I mean who can resist them with their big beautiful eyes and pouty lips?
As you can see hair is still my major downfall. Perhaps I just need to practice some more. Perhaps I just need to embrace what has become my style. But apart from the hair 2016 has been a year of growth for me. I constantly see my skills and art develop and in one particular mad moment I gave in to the temptation of opening an Etsy shop. Not that I've sold anything but the simple fact that I finally caved and did it shows how much I've grown.

I hope that 2017 will turn out to be just as much an artistic adventure as 2016 was - but I also hope that things around me will settle down just a tad bit more. I can't help but to wonder what I would be able to accomplish if I could give art my full attention.

Anyway this was just a small Hello, I'm still alive - and now I'm off to see what the rest of you have been up to.
